Chapter 01 - From Shanghai to New York City

Chapter 01 - From Shanghai to New York City

Born and raised in Shanghai, I moved to New York City at 18 to pursue my passion for media, photography, and film. I immersed myself in modern art museums and independent film theaters. That's when I first discovered the works of Edward Hopper, Agnes Martin, and Bong Joon Ho, which later on shaped my minimalistic and story-driven design philosophy.

Chapter 02 - Building my first website and video game

My life was mostly online during COVID where I began to explore website building and creative coding. Being introduced to Javascript for the first time was a mind-changing moment. I stayed up all night debugging games and websites. It was a tough time but the pure joy seeing my friends playing around my little website kept me going.

I stayed up all night reading about CSS Flexbox and woke up at 6am debugging my pokemon game. It was a tough time but the pure joy seeing my friends playing around my little website kept me going.

Chapter 03 - At the Crossroads: Weaving my Path into Product Design

My curiosity about how things move led me to pursue a master's in HCI. Designing for digital experience culminates all my past threads from that eye for art, copywriting experience, and the interests in designing for playful interaction. Now, as I step into the new identity, I believe good design brings pieces together: simple, functional, and delightful.

人生は冒険だ地図はないけれど translates to "Life is an adventure but there is no map". It's a line from Tokyo Disneyland's theme song. It inspired this map I've created for my adventure.
